She’s drawn comparisons to actress Mar Castro, who <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DT6GJ3Ckpe9/"><u>became a pop culture icon</u></a> in Mexico during the 1986 World Cup when she was dubbed, "La Chiquitibum."</p><p>It all started for Sandra Cuevas, who served as mayor of Cuauhtémoc from October 2021 to March 2024, when she posted a video of herself celebrating in the streets in a low-cut top. I don’t even want to think of how brushing aside that level of viral recognition would be received. It would be a slap in the face of fans all over Mexico.</p><p>The 40-year-old former politician issued her response with a statement addressing her boobs, and you would expect nothing else from this moment. She acknowledged them directly and accepted them graciously in her response to the nearly 1 million views she's received at the time this is being written.</p><p>"The Chiquitibum… well, guys, what can I do, I can’t just take them off. They had already nicknamed me that in 1986 and it amuses me, I like it," she said of the viral passing of the torch, if you will, reports <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/39486971/mexico-world-cup-mayor-sanda-cuevas/">The Sun</a>.</p><p>"I don’t take it as an attack, there will be those who think that way and take it in a derogatory way, but that’s <a target="_blank" rel="noopener" href="https://www.foxnews.com/outkick-sports/usa-fifa-world-cup-hit-visitors-around-globe-love-americana">how we Mexicans are</a>." </p><p>I don't know what the odds are on Mexico making a run at winning the whole tournament, but this kind of statement with all eyes on you on soccer’s biggest stage can only help improve those odds.</p>
